Accessibility

Pizzati is committed to making pizzatiusa.com usable for everyone, including visitors with disabilities. This page covers what we've built, what we know about, and how to reach us if something doesn't work.

Our commitment

We design and develop pizzatiusa.com to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard that most accessibility regulations reference, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III as applied to public-facing websites. We don't claim full or formal conformance. The web changes, our menu changes, assistive technologies evolve. We treat accessibility as a real constraint on every change we ship, not as a checkbox completed once.

What we've built for

Semantic HTML throughout — headings, landmarks, and lists are real <h1>/<h2>/<nav>/<ul> elements, so screen readers announce structure correctly. Keyboard navigation across all interactive elements, with visible focus indicators in our brand gold. Color contrast checked against WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI controls). Alt text on menu and editorial imagery that describes the dish — not the decoration. Aria-labels on icon-only links (footer social glyphs, navigation chevrons) so screen readers announce them as "Pizzati on Instagram", "Pizzati on Facebook", etc. Forms that announce their purpose and validation state to assistive technologies. Required fields are labeled and validated inline. Reduced-motion support — the spinning pizza visuals on the homepage and Mediterranean spotlight respect prefers-reduced-motion. Visitors with motion-sensitivity preferences set in their OS see a still image.

What we know about

A few areas where we know we have room to improve: Third-party order systems (qrcood, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Slice, ChowNow, Favor, Caviar) are outside our control. We can't guarantee their accessibility. If a third-party platform is hard to use, please order by phone at 972·863·8603 — the kitchen will happily take your order that way. Menu photos and per-item prices load lazily for performance. If you use a screen reader and a section feels incomplete, give it a moment to finish loading. The full menu page is long — twenty-one specialty pies, four Mediterranean pies, five pastas, and more. We use clear section headings so screen reader users can jump by heading; if a structure isn't working for you, please tell us.

Tell us when it doesn't work

If you find an accessibility barrier on pizzatiusa.com — content you can't read, a control you can't operate with the keyboard, an image with missing or wrong description, anything — please email info@pizzatiusa.com or call 972·863·8603. We treat accessibility reports as priority bugs and will respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you'd rather order food without using the website at all, the phone line is always open during our hours, and we'll happily take your order that way.
